Interview with TJ Gardner

ANT: What is your background?

TJG: I was born in 74' in Winchester, Va , USA. I've been playing music over 26 years, started out young.

ANT: Are you professional musicians or do you do other work to supplement your income?

TJG: I see myself more as both I try to be the professional, who works around my income, lol.

ANT: Who is your typical fan?

TJG: My view of a typical fan, is someone who stands behind your music, and sees it for everything that it could be.

ANT: What are your songs about?

TJG: Mostley emotions, I try to work in every emotion that people feel, so that at least one song would fit the way they feel at that time.

ANT: Do you write your own songs?

TJG: I write my own songs, although I haven't been writing notes too long, so it takes me alittle longer than usual, but mostley just have fun with it.

ANT: Who are your musical influences?

TJG: My influences include bands like Def Leppard, which they are way I stick to melodic music. I also enjoy listen to Joe Satriani, which is why...

Valkir: Tommy, as the head of the instrumental genre, you have conducted quite a few interviews, and now, it's my pleasure to interview you and finally give the people here at Mixposure a glimpse into your background. Why don't we start with you telling me how you got started playing and when.... Tommy: I got started off playing as early as four years old, my parents got me a Muppet drum set for Christmas, man I beat the hell out of those things. Around the same age I can remember my dad Had the old vinyl records such as the beach boys, Earth wind and fire, and the Beatles. He would sit in his room and listen to them, and I could hear it in my room. And the music would get to me somehow, made me wonder how they did it, and mostly how they got the music on those huge black disc. I played drums seriously for about ten years before picking up on a little piano, and moving on to guitar. I played in several bands growing up all local groups.
